Base2stay – Liverpool

Base2Stay is not the cheapest hotel in the city of Liverpool, but it certainly does have a great location. Located about a 10 minute walk from the Lime Street train station and just up the street from the newly redesigned downtown shopping area, you can’t ask for a much better neighborhood to be in the center of it all.

Decorated in a very minimalist design, with the lobby reminiscent of a New York loft, the hotel offers a decent atmosphere that mixes comfort with modern design. The hotel also offers an extreme sense of security with guests needing a card to get into the hotel at all hours of the day and multiple doors and elevators that always require a key card to get anywhere near the guest rooms.

The hotel also offers free coffee and computers with internet access in the lobby.

Rooms are equipped with a decent mini-kitchen that includes a mini-fridge, microwave and sink for making snacks in your room. If you choose a room with a ‘pull-out’ couch beware that it is essentially a folding chair that is laid out flat; it is actually closer to a folding cot than a pull out couch, as it is slightly narrower than the double bed.

There is plenty of nightlife in the surrounding blocks, with a variety of clubs and bars raging into the night. However, the double paned glass at the Base2Stay keeps the noise out and ensures a pleasant night’s sleep.
