While visiting Manchester may not be at the top of most people’s bucket lists, it’s a very worthwhile city to visit with a host of redeeming qualities. It is not always easy to find a weekend with great weather to visit, but if you can, you will not be disappointed.
The city tends to be bustling with students during the school year and can be a bit quieter in the summer, which is not a bad thing! It is quite easy to spend a entire weekend walking the city, visiting the high street which is always packed with weekend shoppers or stopping at one of the many cafes and pubs that litter almost every street.
Check out The Triangle area right beside The Manchester Wheel for an ideal people watching spot. There are numerous restaurants in the area – avoid the chains and head to something that at least looks local.
Be sure to check out St. Ann’s Church – as long there is no service going on head inside and take a quick walk around. It’s fairly small inside, but the stained glass windows alone are worth the trip inside.
