Legends Golf & Resort is an ideal spot if you’re headed to Myrtle Beach for a few days of golf. With three courses located directly on the property and some great deals available for accommodation plus green fees the overall cost of your trip can be manageable.

There are three golf courses located directly on the property with an additional two located about minutes away.

The Heathland course is extremely enjoyable with some forgiving fairways and some crazy greens with bunkers that extremely challenging. Overall, this is the course that is easiest in terms of being able to come back form a bad shot without completely ruining your chances at par on a hole. My best score at Legends (by far) was on this course with a relaxing front 9. Beware of the bunkers with very high slopes that are going to require you to really get the ball in the air.

The Parkland course is challenging with some large bodies of water spread throughout the course. A very fun course If you’re the type that may not have a straight drive you’ll want to grab an extra sleeve of balls before heading out onto this course. There are some very tricky (and huge) greens on this course so be prepared for some very long putts on Parkland.

Saying Moorland is challenging may be an understatement. This course has huge areas of sand and overgrowth so if your drives are not great you’re going to be in some trouble. There are a couple holes that don’t give you a view of the pin from the fairway so your first time playing this course is quite interesting to say the least. You also need to look out for a few hidden bunkers. The trick on this course is also that some holes don’t look too bad from the tee but once you get out there you’re going to be dismayed if your tee shot wasn’t down the center; this includes “Hell’s Half Acre” on hole 16…

The villas on the property are all 2 or 3 bedrooms with 2 full baths. They are spread out throughout the property with many being right along the fairways or greens which can be a great way to relax (quietly!) after 18 holes. Villas may be owned by individual owners and rented out through the resort which means that each is uniquely but nicely and cleanly decorated.

    On the property

On the property there is the standard PRO shop along with a restaurant and snack bar. There is also a pub located in the area where the villas reside so that you don’t even need to leave the property to grab dinner or drinks in the evening. The pub also has an outdoor bar area equipped with Bag-O, a very chill atmosphere and a small pool and hot tub.

The location is convenient to the airport (only about a 20 minute ride / $40 cab ride). There are free shuttles from the villas to the club house as well so if you’re there for golf you don’t really even need a rental car, which is convenient.
