Centre Island – Toronto

Shopsys on Centre Island in Toronto is an ultimate place for a corporate event. I was lucky enough to head over there for an event related to TBEX. The food is decent for cookout style meals of burgers, chicken, etc. The venue is great and relaxed with incredible views of the Toronto skyline after dusk.

On regular days, without corporate events, there is a standard menu with options such as deli sandwiches and salads. There fare is rather unexciting but the view and area is well worth the trip across the bay. The ferry only takes about ten minutes and leaves every fifteen, making the trip extremely easy and a great, quick break from the hectic downtown.

Things to do on Centre Island

You can rent standard, tandem and quad cycles bikes by the hour near the Pier for exploring the island. During the warmer seasons you can also rent canoes or kayaks near the shrubbery maze, but get there early in the day as boats go quickly. Take the kids to Centreville Amusement Park and purchase a day pass or tickets for the rides and ferris wheel, water slide and miniature golf course.
