Berlin Wall

The Berlin Wall is one of the most famous sites to see in Europe, if not the world. There are still areas standing in the city, though they are only short stretches. You can also see pieces of the wall all over the city, where large slabs of the wall were removed and are now owned by hotels or other attractions throughout Berlin.

Taking a walking tour is probably the best way to hear stories of escapes over the wall while the city was still separated. Because there is a lot of competition for tours, they are fairly cheap and can be very educational and interesting. This is also helpful because Berlin is full of important landmarks that you can easily miss unless someone is pointing them out to you.

As you walk along the wall, which only takes about 20 minutes, you’ll see the drastic variances in the art has been painted on it. These shows a variety of viewpoints but each have some significant meaning. Take you time during the stroll. It hasn’t been all that long since the wall came down…
